Case study 02 · Membership strategy

Building Tarot.com VIP.

I turned an established daily-guidance habit into a focused membership business—using customer behavior, competitive research, and financial modeling to define the value proposition, scope the MVP, guide delivery, and create a new recurring-revenue channel.

Hypothesis

If customers returned for daily guidance, they would pay for continuity.

Customers were already returning for daily guidance and purchasing deeper insight around meaningful life moments. We believed that an $8.95 membership combining immediate personalized value, a recognizable monthly benefit, and transparent customer control would convert this established behavior into a durable recurring relationship—improving revenue predictability without reducing demand for individual products.

Target customer

We focused on customers with demonstrated intent—not the entire audience.

The broader persona system is covered in Case Study 01. Here, targeting was narrowed to the behaviors most likely to support recurring value.

Requirements connected customer value to observable system behavior.
